Brief

Renovate a tired country home to a more modern yet traditional home.

Challenges & Solutions

The whole house was renovated to provide better flow and connection to the spaces within, while engaging with the external gardens and landscape. The style did reflect a more traditional approach with an English twist, having a black and white colour palette, painted brick, gable ends and glazing bars to the UPVC windows. The crowning jewel of the project, that instigated the renovation, is the 'room of reasoning' - a dark and moody room dedicated to separation and reflection.

Materials

Austral homestead bricks. Scyon Linea weatherboard.Colorbond Trimdek. UPVC windows. Easycraft VJ lining. Stuv double-sided fireplace. Tesrol joinery panels. Caesarstone benchtops.

Testimonial

"We engaged Starbox Architecture to help with a major renovation of our family home. Being from the UK and having rather eccentric tastes we were looking for someone who would help work with us and our ideas.

They far exceeded our expectations and came up with a plan that was better than we could have hoped for incorporating a modern feel but with character, and being sympathetic to our taste.

A huge bonus from working with Starbox Architecture was having Jaron as our project manager. He kept all the minor annoyances and irritations of a renovation project off our plate, leaving us the time and space to make the major decisions.

Always available and contactable he was a pleasure to work with, and would recommend to anyone."
